2022: Daily Sanity Checklist
Even crafting a list can feel like too much.
So here is one we can share.
- take three luxurious breaths
2. make contact with the earth
(feet in grass-dirt-sand;
hands on bark-moss-leaves)
if you cannot find nature close to you,
perhaps the journey to find it
lights a fire in you;
becomes the thing you spend your whole life
fighting for
3. move your body
in a way that is not efficient
in a way that does not fuel capitalism
move like discovery
move like remembering
move like you are taking dictation
move like the best of art and life: that sweet oblivion
between losing and finding yourself
4. do something that counts
only you will know what this is
(a walk
a talk
a moment of reflection
a moment of connection
a making
a giving
a savoring)
… that’s it. that’s all.
you are doing your best, sweet being.
